About MyFreeCams

MyFreeCams (MFC) is a US-based cam website. It went live in 2004 and, by 2010, was called “one of the world's largest adult webcam communities” by the industry group XBIZ. The site averages roughly 100,000 models around the world and more than five million members. In 2014, it was said to be “the 344th most visited site on the Internet”. As with many cam sites, MyFreeCams hosts a large number of Romanian and Colombian girls, yet it has more Americans than any other site.

Across the years, the site has grown into one of the biggest cam sites worldwide and become indispensable. MyFreeCams is an intriguing freemium cam chat site. It may look like a camsite straight out of the ‘00s, but don't let that fool you. This camsite is enormous.

Even though the site's layout looks somewhat dated, it remains extremely popular, and users love the webcam shows delivered by the site's female models. Naturally, as a user you can reach a variety of the site's functions. Consider the relatively new MyFreeCams share. MFC share lets models upload photos and videos to share with members, announce goals, write blogs, and generally become more social. They can also set up clubs that devoted members are able to join.

MyFreeCams is a freemium site. That means private sessions exist, but models predominantly perform for a large audience while earning through tips. The site makes chatting more enjoyable with custom fonts, emoticons, and image sharing to liven up any chat room. Members can also further personalize their profile, upload photos, post on other profiles, and even befriend fellow members of the MyFreecams community.

A few show types are on offer. There's the standard Free chat (large groups, tips are earned, everyone is welcome), Private shows (priced at 60 tokens per minute), where other members can spy for 20 tokens per minute. Spying means watching only; just the customers paying 60 tokens per minute can interact with the model. Then there are True Private shows at 80 tokens per minute, where spying is not permitted. Finally there are Group shows, at only 10 tokens per minute, requiring a minimum of 3 members simultaneously. 

Models choose which type of show to begin and can switch off the other show options.

One heavily discussed MFC feature is the Camscore. Models on the front page are ordered by this score, and although MyFreeCams has never revealed exactly how it functions, it's widely believed that the more tokens you earn per hour across a 60-day average, the higher your camscore climbs and the better your homepage placement becomes. 

Plenty of camsites use a fixed profile layout, but MFC does not. As a model, you can fully customize how your profile page looks. With a bit of CSS/HTML know-how you can build something quite fancy. (or, if you'd rather not or can't manage it yourself, there are many designers who will create a really nice-looking page for a bit of money)
