Strategies for healthy social media balance

Nowadays it is becoming more and more difficult to keep a healthy distance and balance with social media. Especially if social media is your job - here are few things for your to consider to have a healthy balance:

  1. Set your boundaries & limit your time online: check on your weekly screen time report and make sure you do not spend too much time online. Sometimes the less is more and having a proper break from the online world can make you more efficient later. Remember that a fresh mind & body is much more productive than the strained one.

  2. Be selective of who you follow: make sure you choose carefully the accounts you follow on social media, hence the content you are consuming. If you feel like someone’s profile on the platform is triggering you negatively, just unfollow them. Next time you open your feed, you will feel much better.

  3. Take time to appreciate the present moment: make sure you stay present in the moment. Yes, it is important for you to stay in touch with your fans and share some parts of your life. But do not forget to enjoy the moments to yourself from time to time.

  4. Don't be afraid to take breaks: it is very important for you to acknowledge when you feel you would need a longer break. This can prevent you from burning out. It is becoming more and more common amongst the creators to take breaks from social media even for a couple of weeks. If you do feel the need, make sure to communicate this with your fans and let them know that you will come back.
